<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide bipolar forceps with new configuration relating to an electrosurgical instrument and a method for performing electrosurgical procedures. <P>SOLUTION: The bipolar forceps for sealing tissue includes an elongated shaft having opposing jaw members 110, 120 at a distal end thereof, each of the jaw members 110, 120 includes an electrically conductive sealing surface 112, 122. The jaw members 110, 120 are movable to grasp tissue therebetween. The bipolar forceps is connected to a source of electrical energy.
