<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydride composite from which hydrogen can be taken out even at≤100°C, an imide compound that can be obtained by releasing hydrogen from the hydride composite material, and a method for producing hydrogen gas using the hydride composite. <P>SOLUTION: The hydride composite comprises LiAlH<SB>x</SB>(NH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>4-x</SB>(wherein x=0 or 1) and LiAlH<SB>4</SB>. The imide material is obtained by releasing all or a portion of hydrogen contained in the hydride composite.
