<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface mounting type current detection device which is very small and can be handled as a single electronic component, and to provide a method of manufacturing the device. <P>SOLUTION: The device includes: a hall element chip 11 having a hall element 11a on its surface; lead members 12 for taking out the drive and hall voltage of the hall element 11a to the outside; metal wires 13 for connecting the electrodes of the hall element 11a and the lead members 12; and a conductor 14 for forming a current path through which a current to be detected flows. The hall element chip 11 and current path 14 are integrally housed in a package 15 of an insulation material. A magnetic circuit core 16, which is made of a ferromagnetic material and which has an open end so as to efficiently apply magnetic flux produced by the current to be detected flowing through the current path 14 to the hall element chip 11, is placed wrapping around the current path 14 as it catches the outer periphery of the package 15. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
