<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To contribute to cost reduction of a cover and improvement in the efficiency of cover installation work, by providing a structure which can be adapted to electric wires wide in use range and having a variety of outside diameters by using a single-body cover, in the insulating cover for the electric wire. <P>SOLUTION: The insulating cover for covering the electric wire includes: a cylindrical cover body which covers the electric wire from the entire circumferential direction; an opening/closing part which freely opens and closes the cover body along the longitudinal direction of the electric wire; opening ends which allow the electric wire to pass therethrough at both ends of the cover body; and a rib-shaped support which is arranged protrusively at the inner wall of the cover body toward the center of the cover body, has an abutting region which abuts against the surface of the electric wire to be placed, and supports the electric wire.
