<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve easiness in driving and comfortableness in riding by properly controlling an electrically operating type brake device. <P>SOLUTION: In a control method for the brake device, an electrically operating type setting element of a wheel brake is controlled as a function of a desired brake of a driver which is measured from an operation of a brake pedal, at least one control input of a brake signal is measured, and from this control input, the desired brake of the driver is derived. When the desired brake of the driver is derived from at least one control input, the changing direction of the control input is considered. When the desired brake is formed through the control input and a value of a hysteresis part and the changing direction of the control input is reversed, the value of the hysteresis part changes so as to be a monotone function relative to the control input.
