PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten printing time in N-up printing. SOLUTION: A printing device reads an image from a document a plurality of times to capture a plurality of images, and prints the images at predetermined positions on a medium, respectively (so-called N-up printing). In this case, before the end of the reading operations, printing of the read images onto the medium is started. Accordingly, high-speed N-up printing in a multifunction device can be attained.
