PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a writing instrument barrel including a C shape ring in which the C shape ring does not revolve relative to the barrel or does not move forward and backward even if a finger or the like touches to the C shape ring which is mounted without adhering on the barrel and in which one cut section is formed, when holding the barrel. SOLUTION: A recessed groove 3 is formed on an outside surface of an end 2 of a writing instrument barrel 1. On the recessed groove 3, a locking wall 6 composed of a sidewall part 5 which includes a bulging part 4 swelling to a circumferential direction and in which a width of a circumferential direction varies along an axis center direction is formed projecting to an outside. Both ends 9a, 9b of a cut section 9 of the C shape ring 10 are formed to engage in a shape of the axis center direction of the sidewall part 5 of the locking wall part 6. The end 9a, 9b of the cut section 9 are made to engage with the sidewall part 5 of the locking wall part 6, and the C shape ring is mounted in the recessed groove 3 of the writing instrument barrel 1 in the state of press fitting.
