PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that the preparatory operation and the posterior operation conducted to a storage mechanism of a storage cassette without accumulated papers out of a plurality of money type storage cassettes consumes useless power. SOLUTION: An automatic transaction device includes: a differentiating part 2 for differentiating a money type of the received paper money from customers; a plurality of money type storage cassettes 4 making the storage mechanism for storing the received paper money operate to store the received paper money for every each type of money; and a storage part 31 for storing the differentiated result by the differentiating part 2 and for storing each money type of storage cassette 4 requiring a preparation operation of the paper money storage by the storage mechanism. The automatic transaction device makes the storage mechanism operate only for each money type of storage cassette 4 requiring the preparation operation of the storage mechanism.
