<p>A medical guide wire comprising: a core wire (10) having a distal small-diameter section (11) and a proximal large-diameter section (14); and a coiled spring (20) mounted along the axis direction on the outer periphery of the distal small-diameter section (11) of the core wire (10), having a tip-side small-diameter section (21), a tapered section (22), and a tail-side large-diameter section (23), and secured at at least the tip and tail thereof to the core wire (10). The tip-side small-diameter section (21) of the coiled spring (20) has a length in the range from 5 to 100 mm, the coiled spring (20) has an outer diameter of 0.012 inches or less, the tip of the coiled spring (20) is secured to the core wire (10) by means of solder which contains gold, and the portion of the tip which is rigidified by the solder which contains gold has a length in the range from 0.1 to 0.5 mm. In the medical wire, the coiled spring is secured to the core wire with high strength, and in addition, the length to be shaped is reduced in comparison with that of conventional products.</p> |
