<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powder compact which, when a nearly columnar powder compact is obtained by compression-forming powder in a direction orthogonal to an axial direction, has a volume ratio approximate to that of a column as a target having a circular cross section, and nonetheless can be formed without requiring machining, and which is suitable for a dust core. <P>SOLUTION: The cross-sectional profile of the main part other than both end parts is almost divided into a lower arc face 12 along a fundamental circle P and an upper arc face 12 of which the upper top part matches with the fundamental circle P, and side face edge parts 15 extending from the fundamental circle P to the inside are formed on the side faces 14 on both sides of the upper arc face 12. Both the end parts in the longitudinal direction are formed with curved edge parts 15a elevating from the side face edge parts 15 to the end faces 10 while being warped into recessed shape so as to be coupled to the end faces 10 and end part chamfered parts 16 formed so as to be curved into chamfered shape while being gradually narrow from the end faces 10 over the side faces 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
