PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator for smoothly performing evacuation even when flood occurs into a hoistway during emergency operation. SOLUTION: A device for emergency operation of an elevator includes a car 5 running in the hoistway installed in a building, a first detector 6 arranged in this hoistway for detecting the flood into the hoistway, a second detector 7 operating to detect a second flood water level above the flood water level of the first detector, and alarm devices 8, 9 arranged in the car of the elevator and the landing side. When the flood into the hoistway is detected by the first detector 6 during normal operation, evacuation operation for flood to the pit of the elevator is performed. When an emergency operation command such as fire emergency operation and flood detection by the first detector 6 coexist, emergency operation is prioritized. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
