PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a float type steam trap capable of cleaning easily and surely a foreign matter deposited on an inner face of a valve hole. SOLUTION: An inlet 4, a valve chest 3 and an outlet 5 are formed of a body 1 and a lid 2. A valve seat member 7 is provided with the valve hole 10 for communicating a lower part of the valve chest 3 with an outlet 5 side. A float 12 for opening and closing the valve hole 10 is arranged in an inside of the valve chest 3. The valve seat member 7 is formed into a spherical shape, and the spherical-shaped valve seat member 7 with the valve hole 10 formed into an L-shape is arranged rotation-operably in the body 1. A bypass passage 8 is formed, in the body 1, to communicate the inlet 4 with in the spherical-shaped valve seat member 7. Switching is allowed between the first state for communicating the valve chest 3 with the outlet 5 side through the other end 10b of the L-shaped valve hole 10 from one end 10a thereof, and the second state for communicating the bypass passage 8 with the outlet 5 side through the one end 10a of the L-shaped valve hole 10 from the other end 10b thereof, by rotation-operating the spherical-shaped valve seat member 7 from an outside.
