<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power MOSFET in which reliability and a novel function are achieved, and to provide a battery monitoring device in which decrease in number of components and multiple functions can be achieved. <P>SOLUTION: In the power MOSFET, a source and a drain are formed on a first principal surface and a second principal surface of a semiconductor substrate, and a gate electrode, in which a gate insulating film and a first connection electrode on the first principal surface side are provided so as to control a current flowing in the thickness direction of the semiconductor substrate, is formed. In the power MOSFET, a resistance element, in which one end can be connected to a source electrode and the other end is connected to a second connection electrode, is provided on the first principal surface side. The source electrode is connected to a source terminal, the gate electrode is connected to a gate terminal, and the second connection electrode is connected to a detection terminal. The power MOSFET is used for a charging/discharging path of the battery monitoring device, and the resistance element is used for protection needed for a monitoring IC and an error amplifier. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
