<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly efficient solar cell using a nitride semiconductor. <P>SOLUTION: A tandem solar cell 100 includes: a nitride semiconductor solar cell layer 110 that includes a first superlattice layer 111 of a p-type nitride semiconductor and a second superlattice layer 114 of an n-type nitride semiconductor, and absorbs first light; and an amorphous silicon solar cell layer 130 that includes a p-type amorphous silicon layer 131 and an n-type amorphous silicon layer 133 which are laminated, and absorbs second light having a longer wavelength than the first light.
