PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information acquisition system that reduces processing loads of a portal server, an information holding agency server, and a network when acquiring user information. SOLUTION: When user information specified in response to an acquisition request from a user terminal 10 or a third person terminal 20 does not exist in an information storage means 34, a portal server 30 acquires the user information and update time and date from the information holding agency server 40, stores them in the information storage means 34, and returns the acquired user information to the user terminal 10 or the third person terminal 20. On the other hand, when the specified user information exists with the update time and date in the information storage means 34, the portal server 30 transmits the acquisition request with the update time and date to the information holding agency server 40. When the update time and date is the same as that of the user information held by the information holding agency server 40, notification indicating non-update is transmitted. Therefore, the portal server 30 transmits the user information existing in the information storage means 34 to the user terminal 10 or the third person terminal 20, which is the origin of request.
