摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a computing load of an ECU (a control circuit) while securing engine performance when performing split injection in which fuel is injected into a cylinder at multiple times during one cycle of each cylinder. SOLUTION: During the split injection mode, the injection having the largest degree of contribution which has the largest degree of contribution to engine performance among the fuel injection of the split injection performed over several times is determined based on the ratio of the injection amount of each fuel injection of the split injection or the like. Then the pressure in the cylinder at the execution of the injection having the largest degree of contribution (for example, the pressure in the cylinder at the start of the injection) is calculated, and the injection period (an injection pulse width) of the injection having the largest degree of contribution and the injection timing (the timing of the start of injection or the timing of the end of injection) are corrected based on the pressure in the cylinder during the execution of the injection. Thus, the injection period and the injection timing can be set with precision which can realize the required injection amount of the injection having the largest degree of contribution without being influenced by the change in injection properties caused by a change in the pressure in the cylinder. On the other hand, with respect to the fuel injection other than the injection having the largest degree of contribution (the fuel injection which has a small degree of contribution to engine performance), the correction of injection period or injection timing is not performed.
