PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based adhesive composition with which by reducing fumy spray mists generated due to that the water-based adhesive is a dispersion, air spray coating work can be carried out without causing trouble by absorption of mists into associated facilities such as a motor, without polluting the surrounding of an object to be coated and without causing a health problem to the worker by inhalation, without using a local exhaust ventilation. SOLUTION: The water-based adhesive composition is prepared by mixing, into 100 pts.mass of the solid content of a chloroprene rubber latex (a), (b) 1.4-10 pts.mass of one or two kinds of starches selected from non-crosslinked starches originated from tapioca and non-crosslinked starch originated from potato as a gelatinizing liquid.
