PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a setting auxiliary tool including a compact lightweight and easy-handling blade length measuring function which clearly guides a blade setting angle during setting of the blade of a chain saw, and also fixes the blade at the same time, thus being usable for almost all saw chains having different sizes. SOLUTION: The blade is firmly fixed by grippingly holding it while pressing from above a side plate 1, an upper plate 2, and a guide plate 4 by a hand to cover them from above a chain. When setting a right blade, the setting auxiliary tool is attached to the right side of a bar, and an angle is set along the line of the guide plate 4. A left blade is attached to the left side thereof, and an angle is set along a line on the opposite side.
