PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a turbid/muddy water treatment method and system for removing suspended solids, such as soil particles, from washing muddy water of contaminated soil, various kinds of muddy water used in a muddy water excavation method, waste water and spring water in other civil engineering-construction work, and various kinds of turbid/muddy water from turbid water treatment and the like in rivers, the sea, reservoirs, and dams. SOLUTION: In the turbid/muddy water treatment method and system, a flocculant 3 is added to turbid/muddy water 2 to be treated to flocculate and precipitate fine particles in the turbid/muddy water 2 and then the supernatant liquid 6 is discharged, and the precipitate 9 remaining after discharging the supernatant liquid 6 is agitated and returned again to muddy water, whereby the muddy water can be sucked and discharged by using an underwater sand pump 7.
