PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a raising device that reduces load on a member for removing slack of a chain. SOLUTION: The raising device includes a first guide plate 26a inside a winding path R of the chain 24, a second guide plate 26c inside the first guide plate 26a, a support member 27 that supports a tension wheel 28 and is supported by the first guide plate 26a and the second guide plate 26c movably to the chain 24 side and urging means 29 for urging the support member 27 to the chain 24 side. An engagement portion 27a allowing only movement of the support member 27 to the chain 24 side is mounted on the support member 27 or the second guide plate 26c. In the movement direction Y of the support member 27, the length L2 from the first guide plate 26a to the second guide plate 26c is longer than the length L1 from the first guide plate 26a to a contact portion O between the tension wheel 28 and the chain 24 and force Tx in an orthogonal direction X to a direction Y of tension To of the chain 24 acts on the engagement portion 27a with the first guide plate 26a as a fulcrum.
