The pump has a pump housing (18) provided with pump components e.g. pump piston (4), guided into a bush (5), piston return spring (2) and suction- and pressure control valves (7, 13), where the pump components determine functions of the pump. An annular space is executed as a supply chamber (3) for fluid and defines the pump piston at a suction side. A conveying area (1) defines the pump piston at a pressure side. A transverse force effect at the pump piston and/or volume of the conveying area is minimized by a structural and/or spatial unit, to which one of the pump components contributes.
