PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device with high display quality.

SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: a liquid crystal display panel 2 having a display part 6; and a lighting unit 15 illuminating the display part 6. The lighting unit 15 includes a light source 21, and a light guide body 22 having: an incident face 22C1, on which light emitted from the light source 21 is incident; and a recess part 22H recessed from the incidence face 22C1 and extended in the direction D2 substantially orthogonally crossing the thickness direction D1 of light guide body 22 on the incidence face 22C1.
