<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure that information on an unnecessary article is not read by mistake, even when a spacing between settlement positions is shortened. <P>SOLUTION: An apparatus for reading and processing a wireless tag is disposed at a settlement position 1A (1B, 1C, ...) and includes: a holding plate 51 arranged at a lower side of a basket of a shopping cart when the shopping cart is moved to the settlement position 1A (1B, 1C, ...); and an antenna 6A arranged at an upper surface of the holding plate 51. The apparatus further includes: a wireless tag reader for reading data of the wireless tag of an article by emitting electric waves upward toward an upper side from the lower side of the basket of the shopping cart from the antenna 6A; and a settlement processor 37 for executing settlement of the article based on data of the wireless tag read by the wireless tag reader. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
