摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cam drive apparatus and a machining method machining an inner peripheral surface of a non-circular hole with high accuracy. SOLUTION: The cam drive apparatus (a controller 40) includes a first rotating shaft (arbor 11); a second rotating shaft (shaft 22) disposed within the first rotating shaft; a storage means (memory 91) disposed in a machining device (non-circular hole machining device 1) and storing data corresponding a rotation angle of a cam 121 with a projecting amount of a tool obtained by the rotation angle (a table 90 of association between the projecting amount and a cam angle); and a control means (a main controller 41) for advancing or retarding the phase of the second rotating shaft with respect to the phase of the first rotating shaft according to data stored in the storage means. The machining device machines the inner peripheral surface of the non-circular hole by advancing and retarding these rotating shafts with respect to the non-circular hole, and by allowing a tool (cutting tool 13), disposed projectably from and retractably into a storage hole (through-hole 111) in the outer periphery of the first rotating shaft, to project from the storage hole according to a cam profile of the cam 121 disposed on the axis of the second rotating shaft.
