PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing butadiene from which acetylene-based compounds are removed, which excellently suppresses reduction in catalytic activity and hydrogenation of butadiene and uses a 4C fraction as a raw material. SOLUTION: The method for producing butadiene comprising using a 4C fraction as a raw material and selectively hydrogenating a triple bond-containing compound in the raw material in the presence of a catalyst includes adjusting the concentration of methylacetylene in the raw material to 0.1-1.0 vol.%.
