METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR IMPLEMENTING LOCATION SERVICE

The present invention discloses a method and a system for implementing location service, wherein, the method comprises: a Multimedia Message Service Center (MMSC) transmits a positioning request message from a source user to a Multimedia Message Service Gateway (MMSG); the MMSG transmits the positioning request message to a Multimedia Message Generating Platform (MMGP); the MMGP initiates a positioning request to a Location Service Platform (LSP) according to the positioning request message; the LSP implements positioning according to the initiated positioning request and returns the location result to the MMGP; the MMGP generates a multimedia message based on the location result and transmits the multimedia message to the MMSG; the MMSG transmits the received multimedia message to the source user via the MMSC. The present invention not only can reduce the requirement of location service for terminal capability, but also can make the development of the location service more convenient, so as to achieve the aim of utilizing the multimedia message to provide convenient and quick location service for a user.
