<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device with improved NOx reduction efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: Exhaust emission control processing is repeatedly performed with predetermined time, by arranging an oxidation catalyst 32 on the upstream side of an NOx storage reduction type catalyst 16, by arranging the NOx storage reduction type catalyst 16 in an exhaust pipe 14 connected to an internal combustion engine 12.
