<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide devices and methods for insertion of an orthopedic brace to one or more anchors secured to an animal subject. <P>SOLUTION: The device for use in a surgical procedure on an animal subject, includes an installation instrument 220 coupled to the brace 290, the brace has an indexed portion coupling the brace in a predetermined orientation with respect to the installation instrument.
