PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melon treating apparatus which allows stems to easily face in one direction when melons are transported on trays. SOLUTION: Melons A are placed on trays 1 installed on a conveyor 2, and are transported through a quality measuring device for measuring quality of the melons A and an display device for displaying the measured quality on the surface of the melons A. A number of projections 13 are provided on the surface of the conveyor 2 along the transporting direction and, on the lower surface of the trays 1, there are formed grooves 19 that are engaged with the projections 13 of the conveyor 2 over the entire length.
