PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a specimen-sampling method, capable of performing extraction/purification of nucleic acid with high reliability, by preventing impurities contained in a specimen from being mixed in nucleic acids, on a specimen sampling member and a specimen sampling container. SOLUTION: At least a part of the surface of the specimen E is traced via the specimen-sampling member 1 equipped with a specimen sampling part 1a, consisting of a material having interstices or pores and are capable of being readily deformed under pressure, to hold the detection target present in the surface layer of the specimen in the interstices or pores of the specimen-sampling section.
