PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for manufacturing a lamp, capable of improving gas exchange efficiency, and suppressing deterioration of strength. SOLUTION: After softening the prescribed portion of a glass tube 11 by heating it from the outside, the softened portion is pressed from the outside, and a locking part 14 to prevent a mercury alloy member 31 from dropping is thereby formed in the glass tube 11. The locking part 14 is composed of three supports 71, 72, 73 formed so as to alternately protrude to the inside of the glass tube 11. The mercury alloy member 31 is charged into the glass tube 11, and gas exchange in the glass tube 11 is carried out with the mercury alloy member 31 locked at the locking part 14. After that, the mercury alloy member 31 in the glass tube 11 is heated to discharge mercury. Subsequently, the glass tube 11 is sealed, a portion provided at the locking part 14 is cut, and a cold cathode fluorescent lamp is thereby obtained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
