PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a dual external electrode fluorescent lamp is provided to secure an external electrode area by increasing the diameter of a glass tube than the diameter of the glass tube coated with fluorescent materials. CONSTITUTION: Provided is a first glass tube with the increased diameter of an open end. A second glass with both open ends is boned with one(310) of two open ends of the first glass tube. A third glass tube(300) has a first glass section(320) and a second glass section connected to an exhaust system. The third glass tube is bonded with the other open end of the first glass tube. The inside of the glass tube becomes vacuous by connecting the exhaust system to the second glass tube. The discharge gas is injected. An axial tube forming unit between the first glass section and the second glass section is cut and sealed.
