PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus configured so that the user can easily separately replace a drum cartridge DR and a developing cartridge DV, in random order.

SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a positioning mechanism for pressing and positioning the drum cartridge DR and the developing cartridge DV separately and independently in the state where the drum cartridge DR and the developing cartridge DV are loaded to a tray (drawer) 35.
