PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new apparatus and method for positioning a container, particularly a bottle in a labeler. SOLUTION: This apparatus includes a rotatable holder 3 for the container 5 to be positioned, a camera unit 9 for photographing the container, and a proximity switch 11 for starting the photographing function of the camera unit.
