<p>A chain adjusting device for a chain saw is provided with an operation member, a rotating shaft, and a linear motion member. A first gear is coaxially affixed to the operation member. A second gear which is meshed with the first gear is coaxially affixed to the rotating shaft, and a feeding screw thread is formed in at least a part of the rotating shaft in the axial direction thereof. The linear motion member is engaged with a guide bar, has a screw hole which is engaged through threads with the feeding screw thread of the rotating shaft, and moves along the rotating shaft together with the guide bar as the rotating shaft rotates. The gear ratio of the second gear to the first gear is less than one, and when the operation member is rotated for operation, the rotating shaft rotates more times than the operation member.</p> |
