<p>A pneumatic tire (10) is provided with air chambers which have recesses (221), and also with narrow grooves which communicate with the air chambers and a circumferential groove (21), and the air chambers and the narrow grooves are formed in a rib-like land section of the tire. The depth (DP1) of a recess (221) measured from a land section (211) making contact with the road surface is greater at one end of the air chamber in the tire circumference direction than the other end of the air chamber. The height of the recess (221) from the bottom surface (222) thereof to the ground contact surface varies in the circumferential direction of the tire. The volume of the space formed by a narrow groove and the road surface is less than the volume of the space of the air chamber formed by the recess (221) and the road surface. The air chamber has a tapered shape in which the width of the air chamber in the tread width direction is reduced from the other end of the air chamber toward said end of the air chamber.</p> |
