462,424. Examining yarns and threads. GOTO, K. April 8, 1936, No. 10382. [Class 120 (iii)] Yarn, thread or the like is disposed in substantially parallel lengths or windings above a sheet of sensitized paper which is then exposed to the action of light rays in order to obtain thereon a print of the yarn etc.; the prints can then be examined for defects in the yarns. The yarn may be wound to and fro over a frame containing the sensitive paper or may be in short lengths secured across the frame. As shown the yarn lengths or windings 2 are hooked over pins 6 at the ends of a frame 3 and pass through racks 7 by which they are arranged parallel and spaced equidistantly above a sheet of sensitized paper 1 pressed by a board 5 against the yarn which is forced against a sheet of glass 4 in the top of the frame. Racks 7 of different pitch may be provided for different kinds of yarn and the racks may be replaced by a series of plates movable in grooves in the ends of the frame so that the yarn is disposed between the plates and held thereby. |
