HEATING CONTROLLER AND HEATING CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating controller capable of more correctly determining that a metallic material is suitably heated, thereby controlling a heating furnace. SOLUTION: The heating controller 10 controls a heating furnace 1 where a metallic material F is heated while being carried to a furnace length direction. The heating controller 10 includes: a plurality of temperature measuring devices 100 arranged along the carrying direction and measuring the temperature distribution in the surface of the metallic material; a position decision part 11 deciding a first position P1 in which temperature is discriminated to be a high one compared with the other position and to be controlled during the heating stage in the surface of the metallic material and a second position P2 in which temperature is discriminated to be a lower one compared with the other position and to be controlled during the heating stage; a temperature difference calculation part 12 calculating the temperature difference between the first position and the second position based on the measured temperature distribution; and a discrimination part 22 discriminating the completion of the heating of the metallic material based on the temperature difference.
