PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device for surely detecting a punch hole trace or the like, by shortening a detecting time of the punch hole trace and a staple trace of a document. SOLUTION: This image forming device stores a coordinate value of the detected punch hole trace or the staple trace in a coordinate value storage part 112, when a punch hole trace detecting part 111 detects the punch hole trace or the staple trace by analyzing document image data on a reverse surface of the document. The punch hole trace detecting part 111 analyzes data in an area corresponding to the coordinate value of the storage part 112 on the document image data on a surface of the document, and when detecting the punch hole trace or the staple trace from the data in this area, a postprocessing part 106 forms a punch hole in a printed product of the document image data, or performs staple processing.
