PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric current supply control apparatus for a glow plug capable of increasing a recirculating amount of exhaust gas, by supplying an electric current to the glow plug when a state of a load applied to an engine is a transition state, and to provide the glow plug. SOLUTION: In the transition state of increasing the load applied to the engine such as at the time of acceleration (S14: YES), an instruction signal of instructing an increase in an EGR amount is transmitted to an ECU (S18). Electric current supply to a heating resistor of the glow plug is performed by resistance value PI control (S20), and the temperature of the heating resistor is maintained in a stable state at the target temperature, and combustion stability is enhanced. Thus, the EGR amount is increased without reducing engine output even at the time of acceleration, and generation of NOx is effectively suppressed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
