PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform automatic control of a camera based on the result of subject tracking. SOLUTION: A subject-tracking section 3 tracks a subject position within a photographing screen by performing template matching, based on the result of photometry by a sub image sensor 5, a focus-detecting section 4, a photographing recording section 7, an exposure operating section 8, a direction control section 9, and a zoom control section 10 perform automatic control for automatically photographing a subject, based on the tracking result of the subject and preset photographing conditions.
