<p>All measurement values are reflected (A) with minimum variations and shown as points of accuracy. They can be approximated, preferably in a least-square use and can lie at any point in an engine-operating map (EOM). An existing EOM is modified (B). A EOM partial area is rejected and new points are measured. Existing EOMs are assembled (C) into one EOM or there is only one EOM, in which an unavailable partial area is to be calculated without further data points. Intermediate points are added to expediently. All remaining EOM points are regarded as exact data points.
