PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage conversion device which can easily calculate a timing suitable for changing a carrier frequency for switching the switching elements in order to alleviate an influence of a dead time generated as a variation of an output voltage. SOLUTION: The voltage conversion device outputs DC voltages fed to a lower-side switching circuit via a reactor L1 connected to a middle point for connecting an upper-side switching circuit and a lower-side switching circuit in series to each other as desired output voltages VH from both ends of both the circuits by driving the upper/lower-side switching circuits by using a control device 10 on the basis of the carrier frequency. A detection device 13 is inputted with a measurement value of a reactor current IL flowing in the reactor L1, and detects the direction change of the reactor current IL on the basis of a result of the comparison of the input value and a comparison value corresponding to the input value. The control device 10 changes the carrier frequency on the basis of an effect that the detection device 13 has detected the direction change switching of the reactor current IL.
