PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnosis system for nondestructively detecting reinforcing bars and defects or unsound sections existing inside for imaging by ultrasonic waves propagating through the air. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic diagnosis system amplifies a signal generated by an ultrasonic signal generation section 2, by using an ultrasonic signal amplification section 3 for impinging on a specimen 30 from an ultrasonic transmission sensor 4; receives a waveform propagated through the inside or on the surface layer of concrete by an ultrasonic wave reception sensor 5; amplifies the waveform by a reception amplification section 8; records in a waveform storage section 10 incorporated in a personal computer 15; identifies propagation time corresponding to previously assumed ultrasonic propagation distance; and measures the longitudinal, transverse, or surface wave speeds of the concrete. By displaying reflection wave amplitude which is not less than a predetermined threshold, from the iron bars or defects inside the concrete by an image display section 13 by changing into gray or color tones corresponding to the position of an encoder 7, the iron bars or defects inside the concrete are imaged.
