PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device, which has a simple configuration and can control the press-contact state of rollers of the fixing device, and the press-contact state of the rollers is reliably released when the fixing device is detached. SOLUTION: When an electromagnetic clutch of a driving mechanism 81 is turned off, the power transmission path of the gear unit of the driving mechanism 81 is shut off, and the gear 82 of the driving mechanism 81 can freely rotate. Accordingly, a gear member 35 which meshes with the gear 82 can freely rotate. With the rotation thereof, a rotating member 36, supported by the same shaft 37 by which the gear member 35 is also supported, can freely rotate. In this case, the gear member 35 and the rotating member 36 rotate clockwise with those gravity, a coil spring 72, between the gear member 35 and a moving frame 71, and a coil spring 73, between the rotating member 36 and the moving frame 71, contract to the shortest length, and the respective rollers 31 and 32 are released from being in press-contact with each other.
