摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a gas diffusion layer in a simpler process yet without degrading porosity of a base material, in one having a bilayer structure of a base material made of a porous material and a microporous layer. <P>SOLUTION: A mixture solution 2 of at least a water-repellent agent and a conductive material as a microporous layer constituent is coated on one of the faces of the base material 1 without water repellency treatment applied, and a drying treatment of the above coated mixture solution is carried out in a way in which an evaporation removal rate of a solvent of the mixture solution at a base material side is higher than at a microporous layer side. At that time, a thickener is added to the mixture solution, and either the conductive material is put in an agglomerated state (a structure construction) or a conductive material in a preliminarily agglomerated state is used. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
