PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier device achieving strong and secure holding of rod articles with a simple form even the conventional negative pressure aggregate, and enabling high-accuracy control of a transportation process. SOLUTION: The rod-like article carrier device, which diverts the rod like articles from a first transportation flow to a second transporting flow, or reversely thereto, includes a vertical conveyer having a base member and a plurality of circulation members. Each circulation member has at least one holding head for holding the rod-like article by negative pressure. The negative pressure is supplied to the circulation member through a controlling disk plate which is a part of a plane valve, the plane valve releases or shuts off a negative pressure pipe to thereby control negative pressure at the holding head. Opening and closing of the plate valve is performed by circulation member rotation movement around the shaft axis and thereby to the base member. The control feature of the plane valve is determined by geometry and position of a circular dent on the control disk.
