PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid jetting apparatus and a maintenance method for the liquid jetting apparatus capable of suitably wipe a nozzle formed surface of a liquid jetting head by a wiper member, and protecting the nozzle formed surface during wiping processing. SOLUTION: An inkjet printer includes: a recording head 22 jetting ink from a nozzle 24; a wiper member 39 formed to abut on the nozzle formed surface 22a of the recording head 22; and a controller 40 allowing the wiper member 39 to abut on the nozzle formed surface 22a so as to perform the wiping processing. The controller 40 estimates an adhesive amount of the ink adhering to the nozzle formed surface 22, and sets pressing force from the wiper member 39 to the nozzle formed surface 22a during the wiping processing to be weaker as the estimated adhesive amount is smaller. The controller 40 performs the wiping processing in such a state that the pressing force from the wiper member 39 to the nozzle formed surface 22a is made to approach the set pressing force.
