PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device capable of reliably preventing the door-opened travel of an elevator by a simple structure. SOLUTION: The elevator device includes a car 2 for moving up and down in a hoistway 1 of the elevator, a main rope 4 for suspending the car 2, a hoisting machine 5 having a drive sheave 11 with the main rope 4 wound around thereon and a first brake device operated when the car 2 lands to block the rotation of the drive sheave 11, and a car sash pulley 7 arranged rotatably in the car 2. A rope stopping device 12 is installed at the car sash pulley 7, and when the car 2 lands, the rope stopping device 12 is operated to prevent the main rope 4 wound around the car sash pulley 7 from moving to the car sash pulley 7. Moreover, a second brake device 13 is also installed at the car sash pulley 7, and operated when the car 2 lands and, the second brake device is operated to prevent the rotation of the car sash pulley 7.
