摘要 Novel organic compounds comprising ligands containing a boron-nitrogen heterocycle are provided. The compounds comprise a ligand L having the structure: Formula I, wherein A and B may represent a 5-membered or 6-membered carbocycle or heterocycle; Xi is selected from the group consisting of carbon and nitrogen; X2 and X3 are independently selected from the group consisting of carbon, nitrogen, and boron; B is a boron-nitrogen heterocycle; R1 and R2 represent mono, di, tri, or tetra substitutions; R1 and R2 are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy, amino, alkenyl, alkynyl, arylkyl, aryl, and heteroaryl; and the ligand L is coordinated to a metal M having an atomic number greater than 40. In particular, the compound is a metal complex comprising a ligand containing an azaborine. The compounds may be used in organic light emitting devices to provide devices having improved photophysical and electronic properties.
